About

I work in tech, infrastructure and security mostly, and have done for well over a decade. The short version is that I keep other people's systems running, and try to keep them honest.

Originally German, in Belgium long enough to argue with its bureaucracy in three languages. Husband, and father to three small people.

Away from the keyboard I make things with my hands. There is a lathe, a forge and a welder in the workshop, a shelf of 3D printers, and a drawer of half-finished projects I fully intend to get back to. I would rather understand how something works than be told, which is either a strength or a character flaw depending on the day.

I write here occasionally. Mostly technical things, sometimes not. No schedule, no newsletter, no engagement metrics, nothing to sell you. Just somewhere to put things down.

You can probably find me if you need to.
